Extracurricular Activities

The St. Simon's Children's Choir
The St. Simon's Children's Choir is open to all students from Grades 4 through 8.Ê The choir for Grades 4 and 5 meets every Tuesday from 3:00-3:30 p.m. in the Music Room of school.Ê The Middle School Choir, Grades 6, 7 & 8, meets each Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 - 3:30 p.m. in the Music Room of school.Ê Students from Mary Mother of the Church Parish have always been welcome.Ê There are some Mary Mother students already in our choir.Ê The students are asked to be a part of the Advent Program in December, sing for weekday liturgies, All School liturgies, First Communion and End of the Year Celebration for 8th grade.Ê Their role at liturgies is to sing, cantor, and lead the congregation in song.

All students must try out at the beginning of the school year.Ê The fourth grade that are accepted into choir will try out once again in January to find those capable of being part of the cantoring group.Ê

This is a good way to use God's talents and share these with the St. Simon community.
